Hope to never not see you again...

I do not like getting too philisophical while posting these, however, I would like to talk about something. I would like to talk about the event of me being able to see my teachers again.
These people are my favorite teachers that I have had in a long time. Two of the, Mr. Vasi and Mr. Juarez, are a few of them. They always walk me through things when I get confused on a certain subject. They are also really funny, so waking up in a bad mood in the morning and then listening to them talk before class makes my day better.
Next, Mr. Jaworski. He is almost the polar opposite of them , but he is still an amazing teacher. He is not as funny as Juarez or Vasi, but he is funny in his own way. He says things that make him ironically funny, like say telling random people about how "cool" Cell Division is, and that it can help you make friends. When helping me, he only helps me with things that he knows that I can not handle on my own, other times when he knows that I can do something on my own he says, "No, no, no!" I laugh and I understand what I need to do. He pushes me, but not too hard, he allows me to go at my own pace.
I do not think I will be able to go on with my high school career if I get dropped from the ECHS program. I can, and will not settle for anyone other than these guys. I can assure them that even after I graduate, I will come back and sho them what their hard work has done for me.

Wierd Weekend/Did Stuff?!

During my weekend (November 22-24 of 2013) I had something odd happen to me. I discovered that I love the song, Viva la Vida by Coldplay, a lot. I was listening to the song when I was in bed at about 12:00 in the morning, during this time I was really tired and really bored. I sat my laptop next to me and listened to a song that my teacher played during the beginning of class. I began to tear up. I had this song on a low volume and I had this song on a 12 hour loop, and I eventually fell asleep. When I woke up in the morning, at about 6 am, I had some need to do stuff. Not just stuff that I do not do often enough like take ashower or study, but i wanted to blow the leaves off the lawn, do laundry, clean my room. I literally could not think of why I wanted to do all this. The only explanation that I could come up with was that the song was so good that I just wanted to get up and do stuff.

Fight for My Right...

I do not like getting too philisophical with questions like," What would you fight, or die, for?", but I guess that ifI were to fight for something, I would fight formy right to "derp". Let me explain, I would fight for my right to mess up or make a really stupid accident/derp every once in a while without being overly criticized for doing so. If that were the case, I would be forced to live in a world where everyone, and everything, was perfect and never did anything accept the right thing. Life could get really boring and dull without someone slipping and hitting their face on the ground, or soneone leaves their computer bag on an airplane. It is things like that that make the world fun and unique in my opinion, someone messes up, people laugh about it and they people go on to laugh at someone else.

Pirate or Ninja?

I would much rather be a ninja for a day, possibly because I like them ore by a million times. Being a ninja would allow me to easily sneak up on people. Also, as a ninja I have a lot more freedom, if I was a pirate I would mostly be confined to the sea and on my ship. A piratte is nothing without his crew, while being a ninja, I do not have to worry about my crew holdingme back.
Also being a ninja, I could wear a sweet looking outfit, concealing my identity, allowingmeto do whatever I wanted without any consequences. I also get cooler weapons than pirates. Pirates get thingslike swords and huge cannons that are only affective on the ship itself, while ninjas have shurikens, kunai blades, swords, nunchucks, and a lot of other sweet stuff.

Useful Technologies: Video Games

Technology is not just a recreation, or a distraction, it is used to help people in many different ways.
One of the things that I can explain it's uses for the easiest are video games. My parents have tried to keep me from playing video games, they believe that playing video games like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto will lead me to a life of crime and murder, but just because there a violent elements in video games does not mean that people are going to do it, it can be used to help people.
One of the many things that people use video games for are for stress relief. If you just get off of a hard day at work, you hate your boss and you wish you could just strangle him, do not just waste the rest of the day feeling sorry for yourself. Instead, play a couple hours on a happy game like Pokémon or Mario. These games are not all that difficult, but they are fun and can take your mind off of the difficulties of life.
There is another reason that many people overlook when judging what a video game does for someone, some video games help some of your senses. There are video games out there that have so much going on on the screen that you are forced to focus on certain things. One game, for example, called Geometry Wars Evolved 2. This game has small shapes flying towards your ship while you shoot at them, and when you shoot them, many rainbow colored explosions appear on-screen. About 5 minutes into a single session, there is so much going on and an enemy at every corner, forcing you to quickly think about what to do and get out of sticky situations like those.

A World Without Green

What would I do if money was not an object?
I think what I would do first is that I would get a good education, just because money is not a factor in this does not mean that I can do anything I feel like. After I get a great education and get my masters in Technology, and get the know-how of everything I need to know, then I will pursue my career. I wish to become a Video Game Developer.
I want to become a game developer for a few reasons. One reason is because I really want to feel the accomplishment after about 3 years work with a company of other people, I could imagine that after a successful game is released that the developers feel pretty good about themselves. I also want people to look up to me, not as some hero, but the person who made something that they cherish. Cherish the way I cherish my Pokemon X, my family, and everything in between.

My Favorite Hobby

There are so many things that I could have for being my favorite hobby, or activity. I could put going to school, going to my cousin's house, but there are a few things in particular that really come to mind when this question is asked.
My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to play my video games. I do not just like playing video games because it is fun, there are many other things that get me wanting to play games more each day. One of the main reasons that I play video games is because it helps get rid of stress, depending on the game of course. What I mean by this is, a stress reducing game, like Super Mario, is not impossible, it is not too frustrating and it is still really fun. A game like Halo can, and will, irritate me and make me really angry. Playing with people who are better and play to win, rather than playing for fun.
Another reason for me playing video games is because, it is a good way of making friends. I made a friend last year at this school after playing a few games of Pokemon. Playing games after school, but still in the college, lets me talk and get to know some of the people who come to the college. One example of this is that I play with a few guys, named Mich and Caleb, and we play SSBB on the Wii, along with a few other guys. I have a chance to get to know them and I find things that we have in common, like the fact the we both like SSBB.
I like to do many other things, like going to my cousin's house and taking care of my dog, but this is my favorite, being that it is the least stressful and is really fun.

My Clumsiness

If i could change one thing that happened to me in my past I think that I would change my clumsiness in general. This does not seem like much, but between the ages 4 and 12 I did some pretty stupid stuff that got me either really hurt or close to getting killed, a lot of them involving bikes and trikes.
When I was 6, I lived in Parma on a road called Fernhill. This road was kind of steep and I always road my trike down it. One time, I road my trike down and I was going really fast and there was a few acorns in the middle of the sidewalk. When my front wheel hit it, my bike flipped forward and sent me and my bike flying into the grass. My bike fell on top of me and it hurt, but not as much as when I was 12. I was riding my
bike down the a road which was also steep. I was kind of stupid and bad at making decisions, so instead of riding my bike in front of a building, I rode around it. I saw a large SUV and could not see anything from my angle. I made a hard left turn and smashed my bike into a brick wall, I was going so fast that my chest bashed into the handles and they broke off. I was in a lot of pain, so I limped to a bench that was nearby. When I sat down was when the pain got worse, the pain was delayed for some odd reason.
I am sure that if I was not too clumsy when I was younger than I would not have so many embarrassing scars and cracked ribs. My parents would probably stop talking about my obvious mess ups. One of which is that when I was 9, I almost fell off my apartment balcony and my mom gets really anxious and scared when ever I go up high places like roller coasters and high diving boards. I would get more respect and people would not be scared of me messing up all the time.

My Important Thing

I have many things that I believe is important, my house, my money, my gaming console, but there is one thing that I have that a lot of people can agree with, my family, my mom, my dad, my sister and brother. They do a lot of things that makes me who I am.
First, my brother and my sister. They do a lot more to me than I thought they did. When they decide to argue and fight, I have to go to them and tell them that they cannot fight and tell them why it is wrong. I get to tell them why what they did was wrong so they can avoid the issue, which they do not. I also love them and think they are important to me because I am their older brother. I am the person they come to when they have problems, like a mean kid at school or when they need help with homework, which makes me feel needed. I make them happy and they make me happy when ever I see them smile. I also really think that my parents are important to me, obviously. They do more for me than I can pay them back for. They put a roof over my head, they feed me when I am hungry, and they love me. Because my parents and siblings are important to me, I hate it when other people try to wrong them, like bad kids at my brother's school or other people in my family who says bad things about my mom, like my aunt and uncle. I can not do much about these, my brother saying that he would be embarrassed by me, or my mom saying that it was not my business what my aunt says about her, but I just like to know that I am behind them to support them, as they are behind me, supporting me.

A Summer Highlight

My summer was not too exciting. Most of the time I was either inside playing my Xbox or outside playing with my brother or sister. Sometimes I would go to my cousin Wayne and Brandon's house to hang out, but that was most of my summer. I did not do anything special like go somewhere outside of the U.S., I didn't even leave outside of state. Even though I did not make too many great memories that I will cherish, I did have an amazing time camping that I will remember for a while.
About a week after my birthday, my family and I went camping, I forgot the name of the site. My mom went all out with this trip, she pack the car to the brim with anything we might need, we did not even use almost half of the stuff. She reserved one of the cabins, and although I really enjoyed the cabin, I was quite uneasy at night. There was a bee hive stuck on the outside of my window, so I assumed that I could get stung on my way to the showers in the early morning. There was plenty of activities to do when we were there. There was a large open field where I could play with my brother, there was canoeing, every night there would be music, it was great. If only I had brought my football there could have been another thing I could have done in my spare time there. By spare time I mean the time that I was not with my family the entire time.
The worst part, in my opinion, of the trip was probably the canoe trip. My family and I all got in a canoe, or kayak, at the camp site. We were supposed to get off at the 4 mile point, which is what my mom paid for, but we missed that mark and had to go down another 9 miles. It was exhausting, we spent so much time arguing which way to row the boat, and it got really awkward when our boat met up with boats from a different camp site. We followed them back to their site so we could get picked up by my mom's friend and in that time our boat flipped, twice, we lost my sister, who was in a kayak, down the river thrice, and my brother lost his glasses. Even though that part of the trip was a total loss, I still had a lot of fun.
I hope that next year's summer vacation will be just as, if not better, thank the last.

Devan, What My Name Means to Me

Devan

My full name is Devan Luis Santiago. My name does not have any special background, I was named after a person who was nice to my aunt. My aunt happened to like his name, "Devan", so now and forever, I am known by his name, Devan. I personally do not think there is anything special with my name. When I was young, I wished that I had a different name that related to my Puerto Rican heritage, but now that I think about it, I know that there are things about my name that make me who I am.
I am a guy who cares for the feelings of others. I hate it whenever I have to hear the sound of small, sad kids crying, but I can not do anything about it, or anybody for that matter. My name is not much, but it is me, my identity. Without my name, I am nothing, nonexistent.
As I have said before, I was named after some guy that I do not even know, but this guy, Devan, was nice to my aunt. I like to think that he is like that with other people, nice, caring, kind of like how I see myself.
I hear fantastic names almost everyday. Names like Lysander, Taino, Clayton, all of these names are unique, but they are what make those people unique. "Devan" is what makes ME unique.

My Most Important Rule in Life

What is my most important rule? I would say that my most important rule is to not let people keep me down. What I mean by this is, when someone has a dream that they wish to fulfill or some sort of goal, they should not let people keep them from fulfilling that goal. An example of this would be if someone's goal in life is to successfully run a marathon, but their parents did not believe that they could do it, they should ignore them. If someone was to do just that, and with a little bit of time and effort, anybody can achieve their goal. Nobody should let any person keep them from doing something that is possible. I am not saying that if someone believes that if they can fly to climb up to their roof and jump off that it will happen, I am saying that with enough time put into their dream or goal, that that person can do just about anything. We were able to get a man on the moon, people didn't think that it was possible, but scientists wre able to make it happen, if that is possible than anything is possible.
